Obituary for Alicia Alice Jeanne Stuehmeyer

Alicia "Alice" Jeanne Stuehmeyer March 23, 1923 - June 26, 2019            Loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Alicia “Alice” Jeanne Stuehmeyer enjoyed a full life, passing peacefully at the incredible age of 96. Alice is survived by her loving daughters, Sue Ann Figone and Kathleen Swanson, and her devoted son, Stephen Stuehmeyer. She is preceded in death by her adoring husband of 66 years, Oscar Stuehmeyer, and her oldest son, Kent Stuehmeyer.           Alice was born on March 23, 1923, in Los Angeles, CA, to Blanca and Lorenzo Torres. She married Oscar Stuehmeyer in 1949, shortly after Oscar returned from active duty, having served in the US Army during WWII. Alice was a devoted homemaker; she, Oscar, and her four children enjoyed a peaceful and harmonious life together in South San Francisco, and later, in Foster City. After her children were grown, Alice began a career she enjoyed immensely as a special education school bus driver—and later, instructor—retiring in 1992. In retirement, Alice enjoyed spending her time with her family and would often be found, perfecting her wonderful backyard flower garden. Alice was a strong, determined, and virtuous person—a steadfast matriarch of a family for whom she was entirely devoted. We were blessed to have known her and are saddened by her passing—but are ultimately hugely grateful for the time we had with her and the love we shared with her. We will miss her dearly.                Funeral Service, Wednesday, July 3, 2019, 1PM, Garden Chapel, 885 El Camino Real, S San Francisco.  Committal Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma.
