Obituary for Charles B. Bellmont

Charles B. Bellmont August 3, 1928 - September 16, 2019  Charles Bertin Bellmont peacefully passed away on September 16, 2019 under Hospice care at the Bougainvilleas Care Home in South San Francisco. Charles was born on August 3, 1928 in San Francisco where his parents Charles and Alice Bellmont raised him until age 17. At the age of 18 he joined the Army and fought in the Korean War. When he returned from the war, Charles married the love of his life, Barbara, in February 1952. Together they were married for 65 years. In October 1957 Charles began his career at Woodside Fire and retired in May 1985.  Charles is survived by his wife Barbara, daughter Denise, son-in-law Robert Bordi, grandchildren Nicole (Anthony), Joey and Melissa, and great-grand children Luca and Lyla Armanino. He was predeceased by his sons, Paul and Jeff. Charlie was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping, hunting, and fishing. He and Barbara retired to Pollock Pines, CA where he enjoyed creating wood carvings, painting, and stain glass windows. He could normally be found splitting firewood, working in the garage, or making countless gifts for family and friends. He also loved a good In-N-Out hamburger with a vanilla milkshake.  He will be forever missed but never forgotten.  A memorial service will be held Monday, September 23, 2019 10:00 AM at Golden Gate National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the Woodside-Portola Valley Fire Protection Foundation.
