Obituary for Elizabeth M. Swanson

We announce, with broken hearts, that Elizabeth Montana Swanson transitioned to her spiritual life on July 15, 2021, surrounded by family at the age of 58. Elizabeth, also known as Liz, was the wife of Michael Swanson and loving mother of Malorie, Daniel, Jacob, and Michaela; doting grandmother to Syrus.

Liz was born in Oakland, CA on September 9th, 1962. She was the second youngest of nine children to Sarah and Louis Montana. She was lovingly brought into the home of Helen and Guadalupe Ramirez where she gained and grew up with four additional siblings; David, Elena, Mark, and Diana. Liz had many friends growing up in Hayward, attended beauty school after she graduated from Sunset High, and then met her husband, Mike, in January of 1984. She was a stay at home mom while taking care of her children, nephews, nieces, and the young kids in the neighborhood until the family relocated to San Bruno in 1996. Liz’s nurturing spirit touched everyone in her life as she became a vital part of other families day to day lives, working as a housekeeper and nanny, holding a dependable and motherly presence to everyone she cared for.

Liz always brought light, laughter, and jokes everywhere she went and was full of love and generosity that helped support friends and family through hard times. Liz was a proud member of the Tohono O’odham Nation and attended local pow wows where she splurged on her silver and beaded earring collection. She was easy going, enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and appreciated a glass of red wine and spending time with loved ones.

Services to remember and honor Elizabeth’s life will be held for family and close friends on July 28, 2021.
