Obituary for Ivan - Zagar
Born in Delnice, Croatia. Pre-deceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Elizabeth. Father of Gordon (Stephanine), Christine (David), Gary (Marina) and Adrian (Nicole). Adoring Grandfather of Alexi, Joshua, Aaron, Amanda, and Zachary.
Ivan came from Europe to San Francisco in 1958. He started Tech School and worked for Friden Calculators as a technician. He made it through several company name changes and acquisitions to retire after 35 years. He moved his family from San Francisco to South San Francisco in 1968 where he lived for the last 55 years.
Ivan was an avid fisherman, loved to play bocce ball, enjoyed working on Sudoku puzzles, watching old westerns. He was a SF Giants, SF 49ers and Golden State Warriors fan. Loved times spent with his family around him and especially loved his wife’s home cooked meals.
Ivan will be greatly missed by his family, his friends, and his neighbors.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 10 AM to 11 AM. Funeral service will begin at 11 AM. Committal at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
