Obituary for Jose Eulogio Ganoza

The world lost an amazing father, grandfather, brother, dear friend and a war hero in Jose E. Ganoza on February 15, 2022. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years Nina, and his father Jose Ganoza and mother Carmen and brother Arturo.

Jose was born on October 23, 1945 in Callao, Peru. Along with his family he moved to San Francisco in 1961. Growing up in Peru he was an amazing soccer player, he continued his passion of the game by playing with The Rio Guayas Soccer Club in San Francisco. Drafted for the Vietnam War in 1966, he spent two years with the Big Red One Unit. He received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart amongst many other awards and medals.

He was a stationary engineer at Merck for many years but spent the majority of his career working for the City and County of San Francisco at the SF airport where he spent over 25 years.

He loved traveling the world with his wife which they did regularly but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. His grandkids were his life and he loved to spoil them. Family gatherings were a must as visiting with his brothers and sisters was a great joy.

Jose is survived by his son Joey, grandchildren Brandi, Olivia, and Jagger, great granddaughter Sunny, brothers Nemo, Ciro, Winston, Gino and sisters Toni, Gaby, and Janet.
