Obituary for Rosario M Paez

Rosario M. Paéz passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her children, in San Francisco on May 12th, 2020.
Born in Sinaloa, Mexico in September of 1931 to Hermelinda Jiménez-Ocampo and Angel Paéz-Mora, she was the eldest of four daughters, Nena Paéz (deceased), Delia Garcia and Juana Guadalupe Paéz. Rosario was the eldest Tia.
“Mamy” is survived by her beloved children Anna Nastari (Chuck), Tony Cedeno (Dena), Reymartin Cedeño and Clarissa State (Mike), along with nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as “Welita.” She is also survived by beloved sister-in-law Ann Morales (Dan deceased).
After initial years as a housewife she went on to raise her four children, and in later years, as a single mother.

Rosario was proud of having worked as an Immigration Counselor for over three decades, including many years at the U.S. Catholic Conference. Respectfully known as “La Señora Rosario” or “La Señora Cedeño,” she helped hundreds of people migrate legally to the USA to flee persecution and other problems in their home countries.

Devoted to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His Blessed Mother “Our Lady of Guadalupe”, she was a longtime parishioner of Church of the Visitacion.

Services will be private, with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, CA.

The family would like to thank and acknowledge the compassionate care and services provided by the Sutter Care at Home Hospice Service team.

The family would also like to thank Fr. Thuan Hoang and Fr. John Balleza for their generous love and spiritual support.
