Obituary for Stuart Harmon

Stuart Harmon August 18, 1960 - November 17, 2019 A true one of a kind, Stuart Allen Harmon sadly passed away last year on the 17th of November at the age of 59 years old. He was born in San Francisco on August 18th, 1960 to Otto Amos and Rose Marie (Gorgone) Harmon. Raised in South San Francisco, Stu attended Buri Buri Elementary, Alta Loma Middle School, and graduated from El Camino High School class of 1978. He found his love of motorcycles, vans, and most importantly what Mopar meant to him while growing up in the 70’s. Stu never met a stranger, only friends he hadn’t made yet. He truly touched many lives, was loved by all, and will be missed greatly.  At the early age of eighteen years he began working for a local Garage door company. A short time after he moved to Alert Door Services, Inc. where he worked faithfully for nearly thirty seven years installing over eight thousand garage doors and fixing many others. He was a hard worker, rarely missed a day of work, and was always prompt. In his off time Stu was a prominent Member of The Golden Gate Street Machines Unlimited where he held a spot on the Board of Directors for over ten years. Stu was the founder and president of the Mid-Peninsula Muscle Car Club with over two thousand members spread out across the World. Stu was a loyal and active member of multiple online forums such as Moparts.com and The Mopar Mailing List.  If you ever met Stu outside of work you probably saw him with one of three things with him a camera, barbeque tongs, or a cold beverage. He was always ready to snap a good photo, light up the grill, or to hand you an ice cold drink. Stu was an all-around entertainer, whether you were hanging out in the “Man Cave” better known as the South City Social Club or at a Car Show with his complete Stu Harmon set up that no one could beat! There are many reasons why Stu was so undeniably funny with such a charismatic personality and his quick wit. He loved to host both family and friends, he was always prepared and willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, and could always be counted on for garage door advice.    Stuart was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He is survived by his beloved wife Sally Ann Harmon; his daughters Caitlin Nicole, Stacy Lynn, and Deanna Marie; along with his Son-in-Law Zachary Brower, and his grandson Ryder Allen Whitcombe. Stu was the youngest of four brothers and leaves behind two surviving older brothers Richard Harmon of Pacifica, CA. and Michael Harmon of Tracy, CA. He is also survived by his Mother-in-Law Margarita Yolanda Ehrlich.  Services will be private.
