Obituary for Vilma S. Silva-Re
Vilma Silva-Re passed away peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2022.
She settled into Noe Valley in 1960 with her beloved spouse, Pablo Silva-Re, who predeceased her, where they raised their four daughters, Virginia (James), Marlene (Michael), Pauline (Joseph), and Margaret.
Vilma was ambitious and a hard worker. She worked for the City for over 30 years and always said she loved her job.
Vilma loved life and adored her family, grandchildren (Jennifer, Christopher, Christine, and Allison), and friends. Her family was her passion and she loved to dance. She was a hands-on mom who made their Halloween and cheerleading costumes, could be counted on to drive to all their sporting events, was their biggest fan, and was quite vocal at all their games. She relished in planning her daughters' weddings.
She was very good at sports in her youth and enjoyed watching the SF Giants, 49ers, Warriors and the competitive “splash brothers.”
Vilma was spirited, kind-hearted, loved and admired by many, and will be enormously missed.
Friends and family are invited to visit on Monday, November 7, 2022 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Garden Chapel. A rosary will be held Monday evening beginning at 6:00PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at All Souls Church, 315 Walnut Avenue, SSF. Committal to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
Family request that all guest wear a mask at all services. Thank you.
